UK’s Most Happening Festivals Celebrated in August

August 14, 2018

The summer is officially about to end and there certainly is a need for send-off parties to mark the occasion. Well, maybe not but the Glastonbury taking an off this year has definitely left a void to fill and music buffs are looking for a relief. There still might be hopes here as there are many interesting festivals to look forward to this time around. All you need to do is look in the right direction. So, we have taken it upon ourselves this time around to ensure that your time doesn’t go waste and you are pointed in the right direction. In this post, we have compiled a small list of the different festivals taking place in August:

1. Bestival:
To kick things off, we have the Bestival taking place in Dorset. Bestival is often called as one the most colorful show on earth. The reason? Well, consider this epic music festival as a sort of fancy dress themed event as well. It is centered each year on a different theme and this year it is definitely going to be all out. This time around, the theme is “Circus” and is also bound to feature a human cannonball act. Crazy enough yet? Let’s forego that for now and concentrate on the lineup. This time around London Grammar, MIA, Plan B etc. are some of the big names coming for the three-day event. Besides music, there will also be a host of different activities including hot tubs, circus acts, 5k campsite runs etc.

2. Maes B:
If you have never heard of this festival then it is for a reason. Maes B is completely a Welsh music celebration celebrating its roots and culture. The festival takes place during the Eisteddfod week and features some of the biggest Welsh musicians in the business. Last year saw a host of noteworthy performances from the likes of Swnami, Chroma, and Bryn For. Now, just because the event is Welsh themed doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy being a part of the celebration. Anyone and everyone is allowed at the festival and become a part of the old Welsh tradition for the time being.

Apart from music, you will also see Eisteddfod celebrations, art, and local merchandise exhibits. One can even get an early bird pass that comes at discounted prices to enjoy the Welsh culture a little. Maes B is a three-day event that takes place in the month of August. The venue for the event is decided by the organizers to be held at the Millennium Centre. For more details, you can check on their official website.

3. Boardmasters:
What started as a professional surfing contest is now Cornwall’s biggest music festival. The view is incomparable by every means because the event has a direct sea view. Nothing better than that eh? There are also skate and BMX shows for the audience and of course a live music playing entourage featuring some of the biggest names in music. The headliners for the event this time around includes prominent names like Catfish and the Bottlemen. The Chemical Brothers, Everything, Years and Years, Rag N’ Bone Man and Idris Elba. Definitely a festival worth splurging on. The event is set to take place in Fistral Beach, Watergate Bay. Look good in whatever you wear with products from Fashion World.

4. Wilderness:
Yeah, this does sound exactly how it is named. Set in the picturesque surroundings of Oxfordshire, Wilderness is set to take place in August month of the first week. The event is meant to be a live act to promote music, arts, and solidarity. As you are surrounded by the wilderness, it makes a whole lot sense to enjoy camping in the area and enjoy a host of other activities including wild swimming, boating or fly fishing in the park lake. Not forgetting to mention, enjoying a cold beer while live music plays for you. Frequent travelers need to ensure that they have proper travel insurance wherever they travel. Ensure this with a Columbus Direct Travel Insurance.

Wilderness over the years has become more than just a simple music festival but actually a carnival for the senses. There are also a host of different activities including gourmet food stalls, art, and cultural exhibits etc. Some of the confirmed acts this time includes Bastille, Nile Rogers, Mahalia, Jon Hopkins, Baster Dury, Kamasi Washington and chic.
